Does anybody know if Montesa 247/248 barrels will fit onto a 172 engine case/bottom ends? I have found that 123 and 172, barrels will fit either engine cases/bottom ends. Contact Dave Ph 0414 400 321 [/b]

Yes it's true that the 123 and 172 share bottom ends.
The 247 has a completely different bottom end to the 123/172.
The 248 appears to share a similar bottom end with the 348 which is also different to the 123/173 bottom end.
If it is more cubes you want, why not investigate a big-bore sleeve job for the 172?
