1976 Montesa Cota MRR bottom shock mounts
I have another question for you about my Cota 348 MRR the bottom shock mounts on the swing arm don't have the lugs as illustrated in the parts manual for this bike that the shock slides onto but instead it has holes, where I've bolted them to the swing arm through the sleeve and rubber. But I'm not sure this is correct and wonder if anyone know the correct way to mount them, this doesn't seem right
?

obiously the origional screw headed bolts that held the shocks on broke the heads off and rather than easy out the post were cut off and holes drilled but don't dispare you can weld a post in where the holes are with a threaded hole in the centre to take an origional Bolt sorter looks like a gutter bolt well its the same as your top bolts if you still have them and if you know an engineer he can replace the post and make you some Bolts or you might even find some in bunnings as most things are metric sizes now. Think I found some in Bunnings myself. The bolt through the hole in the swing arm isn't as good as the origional setup as the bolt can flop around in the hole and make it bigger. Cheers.

I had a similar problem on a few bikes, best was to stick a bolt thru the hole and weld the head of the bolt to the swingarm.

I'm doing precisely that, the first suggestion I have a friend who has a metal fabricating shop who is going to drill and tap two short lengths of solid bar, I have the original aluminium screws and will weld the bar in position through the swing arm from the inside of course and that should do the trick! I'm finding out these small annoying things after I thought I'd completed the resto ... there goes the beautiful powder coated swing arm :) Oh well I'll be careful as I can and try not to burn too much! This is only my second resto but I'm learning FAST!! lol
Thanks guys for your experienced feedback.
Much appreciated.

you can buy a black zinc spray paint from any fabrication supply shop for about 12-14 $$$ and it looks really good even blends good with two pack black.
