Clutch Cover Gasket?

Post by Craigus77 »

Techo's please give me some advice.. I have just had to get a new clutch cover gasket to fix a small leak in my Beta.

Question is: Metal gaskets.. Do they require sealant?

Thanks in advance :)

Craig.

Not sure what you are asking because I'm pretty sure the clutch cover gasket on a Beta should not be metal

The one I took off that was leaking was paper.. New one sent from Dave @ Beta Melbourne is metal. Changed design and are meant to be a big improvement on the originals.

Because those surfaces are rarely perfectly flat and smooth, use a sealant, but a sealant that will allow you to take it off again later (Loctite Master Gasket is suitable)
I'm pretty interested in why a metal gasket was needed there
