TY 175/250... opinions on suitability please.

Without over complicating it I'd recommend getting the newest bike you can afford for the money in your budget. Once you've been in the sport for a few months it will be much easier for you to pick and choose other bikes for future purchases. But for now I think your dollar is best spent on something that is modern and is fairly well sorted and ready to ride. You can and will with time have a chance to ride other bikes, but for now it's best to just get something to begin the process of learning the sport. I spent 2-3 months looking for my bike all of which I could of been riding
