Beta Techno

I am about to be the proud owner of a Beta Techno '98. Anything I need to be aware of in regards to servicing, inherit problems/traits?

Hi Craig,

I've had a 98 Beta now for about 6 years, the only problem I ever have is the clutch warming up. It takes me usually 1-2 minutes of riding to get it operational.

The only other thing I've heard is that the carbs sometimes leak, KD Motos have a link on their website to so Beta tech tips you might want to read them.

The link is http://www.kdmototrials.com.au/

Hope this helps.

As with any bike of that age, they all will have needed some kind of refresh in regards to piston, rings, barrel maybe.
I did have a '96 and it already had a new top end, but the main bearings and seals required splitting the cases. Ran heaps better after that.
I would rather push my twinshock than ride a modern!
