trials boots vs mx boots

Post by paulo »

A bit of a no brainer here, but i don't have any way of comparing. Are trials boots like the Forma and Gaerne shorter than an mx boot like a sidi? I'm thinking of buying proper trials boots to stop the mx boots destroying the side of the bike (among the many other reasons.)

My trials boots (Forma Bolder) are exactly the same height as my Alpinestars T3. Though completely different constriction at the top.

Can't comment on them damaging the bike less/worse than the MX boots but regardless changing to trials boots was the best thing I've done to date. =D>

Cheers

My Alpine Stars trials boots and every other set of trials boots I have had destroy my bikes, unless I wear them inside work trousers and there is no mud involved
relax, nothing is under control

Cheers all, i found a pair of virtually new forma boulder boots going for a good price so i picked them up. It'll be interesting to see the difference in feel over the mx boots

I have a pair of Gaerne mx boots that i used to use riding my TLR250 & also use on my KTMexc400 & Sherco 300i, i bought a pair of Forma Boulders & can't believe how much better they are on the TLR! i even went trail riding in them on the KTM & Sherco can't believe how good they felt!
A few people said i would injure myself wearing them even though i do keep my feet on the pegs 99% of the time, i have gone back to wearing the Gaerne out in the bush though but i wish i had of been wearing them a long time ago on the TLR!!

I would agree with wearing Enduro/MX boots on the bigger bikes, the trials boots provide very little protection for high speed and impact onto certain parts of the foot.
