TY250B Clutch inner basket

Post by tjay7 »

Hi All,

when pulling apart my clutch the inner basket pressure bolt holes had some damage. When I went to reassemble one cracked completely.

Does anyone have another basked they would be willing to part with?
I have looked all over ebay etc and cant second hand or after market items.

Cheers

Quite likely to still function. Heavy duty plates and light springs.

Worth trying.

Yes Alastair is on track. Not even sure you need heavy springs. I have one that works fine with new plates and three standard springs. If you need to, those pegs can be heli-coiled if the thread is damaged, to get three good ones 120 degrees apart

Another other option is to have it (weld) repaired. I know of a TY250 clutch hub that was broken like that and successfully weld repaired by a friend of mine only a month or so ago

Thanks guys,

I have put it back together and getting some friction. I will have to do some minor adjustments tomorrow but I think I will be fine with the existing one.

Looking forward to taking it for a ride!

Cheers
