Dellorto Carbs, PHBH/PHBL.

Post by Rod »

You learn something new everyday they say, well I did today with regards to Dellorto air screw adjustment on my Fantic. This applies to any old twin shock wearing the PHBH BS carb, Fantic 300/Italjet T 350 etc.

It is not an air screw adjustment, it is a fuel/mixture screw, so it works opposite to what most of us are used to. On the Dellorto BS , IN= Lean, OUT= Rich.

I think this applies to the PHBL BS also, as on Fantic 240.

Basically, if the screw is at the front of the carb(closest to motor), it controls the fuel circuit, if it's at the rear of the carb(closest to filter) it controls the air circuit. I should have known this but I didn't.

Recently put one on my Alpina. Another catch is approx six turns out is normal. Drilled and drilled the pilot jet out trying to get it to run at one and a half turns out #-o
So much better than a Mikuni too.
