2004 ? fantic mono, twin disk trials bike

Post by whitehillbilly »

Think I just picked up on of these, a project bike.
Pics not good as it was dark.
Looks like it is the same as connected to this chair.
Any info/ where to get spares, would be much appreciated.
compression seems good.
Thanks

That '94 or '95 Fantic looks to be in amazingly good condition, hopefully having a chair attached has not tweaked the frame too much. John Rees' in Vic was the man back in the day for getting these beauties to Australia I believe, Don Murray (Moto Central) rode Fantic for some time and may be of assistance. Someone here in Oz would have bought up all the Fantic spares one would expect, just don't know who?

Thanks phoenix75.
I think the 1995 model had the steel frame, alloy swing arm, 96 model had alloy frame and swing arm.
Have never worked on something so new, what should I do before trying to start it.
Fuel/oil ratio ????
Clean carby, new plug ( any ideas of type ) and clean fuel. Check water. ( what do you top it up with )
Any spares in Au, might need a kit for clutch and brake lever set up.

Well bike is home.
steel framed 1995 Fantic section.
complete except black mud guard.
Live outside for a number of years, before being put in a shed.
has spark, and a lot of compression.
So many questions ????
How do I top up, change the water ???? Found the filler tube under the fuel tank.
Any way I can check the radiator fan. Thought the bearing was gone, but ended up a leaf. It spin nicely and quiet by hand.
How do you prime the carby, as I see no tickler !!!!
Thanks.
Just seen this :fantic:

A few new photos.
Big thank you to Peter Gately, who came around to look at the Fantic, and sorted out a few things on it. :D
We now have the Radiator fan running, extra wires removed, and the Fantic running a bit better.
Just Clutch, rear brake and front brake to sort out next. None exist at the moment.
Mt Warning, a step closer.
