engine noise 2002 sherco

I noticed a noise in my 2002 sherco , im pretty sure its related to the kick start.when I rotate ita little from the upright position tha noise abates. Any ideas?

Based on the information you've provided, a broken kickstart return spring may be at play and/or a fatigued/broken kickstart engagement spring. Pop the cover off and check it or have someone check it.
