I turned an old piston in a phone dock with a 3d printed insert

I thought there'd be some people on this forum that would find this interesting.

I used an old piston from my first bike (ktm 200) and made a 3d printed insert with a slot for a cable, to use the piston as a phone dock. The 3d model I made is free to be modified for other bikes and used for your own parts

Did you machine the dome off the piston crown so it sits flat?
I use my old pistons for wind chimes and only need a hole drilled through, none of this fancy 3D printing stuff

What material/colour options are available from the 3d printer? Could you print a metal-look piece or does it need to be painted?
