Ended up buying the $60 replacement speedo thru ebay. It will do the job. There was another used item that has appeared from the US but I would have to arrange finance for what they were asking. Around $400AUD, over the top.

I do still have aftermarket speedo's and brackets to suit. I would contact either a clock or instrument restorer to get the original item restored.
