I remember wondering at the time why that 247 had a plastic aftermarket tank and being surprised that it changed the look of the bike so much. Does anyone know who Kevin's demo rider is?
Dads test rider, was his oldest son Bruce. I have that plastic tank stored under the house. He implemented the use of many plastic tanks on all his monty's due to Mr Brian Clarke flipping his own brand spanking new bike in an event up in NSW and the both of them repairing it the night before the second day of competition.

Thank you. They are such fragile things those fibreglass tanks. I was riding in a team trial with three of us on twinshock Montesas in about 2000 and the rider on a 247 had a crash that put a hole in his tank. We tried fixing it so he could finish on it but gave up and we all finished by sharing bikes. Luckily my 348 was also a red Montesa and no-one noticed what we were up to, or cared
Now this is getting repetitive, these rocks are very familiar and I think I have ridden over them as well. This time he is riding them the other way, can someone refresh my memory as to where they are?
