Hi everyone I am new to the site and recently acquired a Bultaco t250 (or so I was told). Know very little about the bike but it was love at first site.
I am trying to identify the model number but no luck as yet. My engine number starts with 'JM' & frame number 'JB' but the numbers do not correlate to the Bultaco model reference guide. I was told that its a 1972 model and aesthetically I am pretty sure its a Sherpa but the chart says the numbers should start from 80.00.001. I am confused because but the stamped numbers on the bike are 12501813. My question is based on the numbers is it a 250cc and how these numbers correspond to the chart given there are no decimal points in the frame or engine number etc.??
Can anyone help?
See attachment for details.
many thanks
Max

Your number means that it is a slightly newer model Sherpa T than what you were told. It is called a model 125, is 325cc and sold in 1974.
It is normal to have no dots in the engine and frame stampings.
The first one or two or three numerals that follow the letters are the model number.

If it looks anything like this than you're on to a good thing, 2nd last of the slimline models, models 150/151 being the last slimlines.
