Killswitch for a James

Hi I need to attach a Magnetic killswitch to my James for this weekends Pre 65 trials event. Can I attach the power wire from the killswitch to this wire circled in the photo of the points and then the negetive to the frame?

Can't see well enough in the photo Barry.
One kill switch wire connects to the wire that goes up to the HT coil.
The other kill switch wire is connected to a good earth.
The easiest location for the kill switch connections to be made is usually at the HT coil.

thanks mate i was trying to get around it by not taking the flywheel off.

David,
This is a Villiers engine and all the HT stuff is behind the flywheel not up on the frame. A HT lead comes out from behind the flywheel straight to the spark plug.
My Villiers engine has been converted with the HT coil on the frame.
Barry,
I think you should identify which side of the points is the earth side. Attach the Kill Switch wire to the electrical connection on the live side of the points. The wire should be able to be routed in behind the flywheel from behind - maybe beside the HT lead to the spark plug. It would be a fiddly job working inside the flywheel, but I think you should be able to do it. The other kill switch wire just needs to be earthed as David said.

You may ask questions but the answers may be dodgy.
I am not experienced with wheel building but I know a trials tyre just fits into swingarm with a lot of rubbing. The new type rear trials tyres ( tubeless ) are now wider and are harder to fit. I managed a couple of seasons ago to get a tube type tyre actual size 4.00 x 18 and it fits the swingarm better.

30 odd years since I built that James. Did i put alloy rims on it ? Got a feeling I did from my pic.
I cut the Tank badge stencil from a piece of cardboard and Stanley knife.
