Graham, I wasn't serious about the gear-drive kit for your Sherpa's. (The cost is all-but prohibitive anyway.) Just a bit of a laugh to remind you of your pursang's whine. I also recall reading that chains were claimed to be more efficient, but I have no idea if it's true. Everybody eventually went to gear-drive. In the case of the Mk10 Pursang and that kit there are extra losses with an extra gear in the primary drive with its bearing etc. The claim of 2Hp increase in TSS250 engine I suspect is due to the much lighter rotating mass of the new clutch etc

The clutch cover spacer though might have saved you from having to shave the nuts.

Dave, that is a nice looking Lobito conversion. I've seen a couple done and I think we still have one such modified Lobito frame in the shed at Calliope.

Is that a Honda front end on it? (TL/SL125?)

No bits there, it's got TY175 forks and triples. The footpegs are back in the normal trials position and the brake pedal is on the right with a cable going over the carby and back to the brake arm. 52" wheelbase.
What front end was used on the one at Calliope?

Here are a couple of video clips from last Sunday of Steve and I in the railway cutting section after the trial. Where we rode is on the white line, previously known as Clubman.
The bikes both sound like they have engines full of loose nails. I'm thinking this is partly the way my phone compresses the sound track and partly because both bikes have quiet exhausts.
Steve's Lobito 175 has a TY Offroad TY175 one-piece muffler and my Sherpa T has a standard main muffler and a Spanish aftermarket triangle muffler.

Yes I noticed the cross-over brake cable.
Is it still a 175?

The one in the shed at Calliope was only a frame Dave. No front end

Yes still a 175. He only found out after rebuilding the engine that they can be converted to 250.

Warning - attempt at self-deprecation humour follows:

While I had the KT apart I decided to replace three of the four steel front engine mount spacers with aluminium.
So by the look of this, three of these babies reduces the bike mass by even more than using one of those Chippy brand aluminium exhaust flanges
People who have taken a KT engine out will probably know why I only replaced three of the four steel spacers

A few pages back Greg Harding wanted me to post up a photo of my KT whine generator but I wasn't at that stage with the reassembly of my motor, but am finally there today.
Greg did later post up a whine drive photo and the challenge is for anyone to notice an important difference to mine pictured here.

I wondered about that too but it's not the answer to the challenge. I suspect Greg's throwout bearing is a bit wider to get the adjustment right for his KX250 clutch cover
