Re: Basket Cases
Wow Greg! You have made us all very jealous now. That white plastic clothes basket is awesome. All of us want one now!

Only problem is they don't hold water very well.
Re: Basket Cases
I hadn't noticed the basket ... I was more jealous of the cooperation shown by the cow.

more Honda TL125 tank workshop time
So a few things lined up which allowed me to re-join the top of my friend's
TL125 tank to the bottom.
1. I got new glasses.
2. The local welding shop was able to supply a D cylinder of acetylene.
3. I'm on holidays!!!
I've never used such a tiny welding tip before (number 4).
The metal is about 0.8mm thick.
The modern sensible method to weld it would have been TIG.
I used oxy-acetylene because that's what I have had a fair bit of practice with and enjoy the nostalgia.
Leak testing comes next

Re: Basket Cases
Well done David. I still prefer to use oxy/acetylene to weld thinner metal. A 4 tip is really small. I have used a number 6 before.

Re: Basket Cases
Yes Oxy Rules... (trouble is they kept putting up bottle rental prices so I returned them).
But I've successfully repaired a few tanks using MAPP gas and brazing rod and Silver solder.
I hate my ARC - have so much trouble actually seeing where I'm going. (Yes I do have a good auto helmet). Need more practice, but unlike oxy which I used to positively enjoy, moving that nice molten pool along, I find arc is such a violent process.

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to say what an excellent weekend riding at Denman was!
I have said it before: If you weren't there, you really missed out! Big time!
Can someone please explain all of the interest in my Michelin and my hands free clutch ??

Re: Basket Cases
He matches the really dodgy bloke on the Italjet I reckon! Both of them look a bit shifty.
