Flywheel Mass

Has anyone ever increased the mass of their flywheel from stock?
How did it work out?
How did you do it and what did you do it to?

Hello Peter,
I added an S3 flywheel weight to my 2014 GasGas 300 several years ago to tame it down to my liking, I was a 52yo getting back into Trials after a 20yr absence, it served its purpose well and is still fitted 9 years later. Weighed around 600 grams from memory.

Example 1
I recently rebuilt a 360cc TY250 twinshock motor and it had a standard TY250 magneto cup but with a much bigger steel ring fitted to the OD of the cup than the standard steel ring.
It used the standard TY250 bolting arrangement for security and was an interference fit (fitted using temperature differential).
Example 2
In about 1977, a friend made and fitted a steel ring to the standard magneto flywheel cup on his (hotted-up) RT3 (1973 360cc 2 stroke trail bike) to improve the nature of the power delivery. The motor was quite delicious to ride with. I believe it was a fairly standard mod for RT3s back in the day.
