Thanks again to the Denman MCC for putting on such an enjoyable event.
The same weekend that the Hunter Region in NSW saw wild weather and widespread flooding and a huge iron ore carrier beached at Newcastle, the Denman MCC calmly and efficiently ran their annual 2-day trial at Sandy Hollow. One of ten Twinshock/Classic-only trials held annually by the Denman MCC, it was a fantastic event featuring spectacular Blue Mountains sandstone boulders with the bonus this year of also having water and mud in most of the sections.
Attendance was down a bit this year due to reported road blockages between major population centres and the venue.
Two Twinshock enthusiasts from Central Queensland made a pilgrimage to ride this event and despite the reports of wild weather on the radio were still quite surprised to drive past snow on the way down to the trial (we don't get that every day in Queensland)
The hospitality of the Denman MCC members was terrific. John Sophios and I felt very much at home amongst this great group of Twinshock and Classic Trials enthusiasts.
There were five levels of section difficulty which catered perfectly for the broad range of rider standard and bike ages present.
Attached are photos of a few of the bikes there.
