Guys (and girls),
Have just purchased a Ty175 and am about to join Logan River Club. Will be at the meet this weekend.
Anyway I have a just a couple of questions...
Is the exhaust re-packable. (rear section) Nothing in there at the moment so advise sought. Sounds rather loud at the moment.
What oil mix do I use. Does 50:1 sound about right.
A little about myself....
Old enough to know better...
Have owned both Fantic and Hondas in the past and looking at getting back into it....
Cheers and await your responses.
Julian.

Hi Julian,
Yes you should easily repack the more common tubular type exhaust muffler, it should come apart with screws at the end an d pull out. The perforated inner tube should be wrapped with either the packaged sound deadening fiber or as I have used before is industrial rockwool insulation. The trick is not to wrap it too tight either, as this can have the effect of a blocked tube. You will notice a difference, and may have to adjust you mixture screw as it will run different with a bit more back pressure.
I run 50:1, I feel this is comfortable for an air cooled iron lined barrel, others will run theirs leaner, and can be done so if you trust the top synthetic oils. But it could be best to leave it around this mixture to lessen wear.
Good to see you are getting back into it, especially on a twinshock!
Cheers,
Roger

I would rather push my twinshock than ride a modern!
