Vine Inn Barossa - 2007 Aussie Titles

Post by Ben Z »

Just a quick update form the secretary's desk...

DONT FORGET ENTRIES CLSOE THIS FRIDAY 14th SEPTEMBER... if you haven't already entered... get them in the mail real soon....

You have to wonder.... how slack are the Australian Trials Riders??

Two days ago... I had 20 entries
Today I have 53 Entries... and there are so many names i havent seen appear on an entry form yet...

As an update - number of entries per class as of 6pm 11th September is:

Open Solo - 7
Open Sidecar - 1
Veteran - 27
Masters - 4
Open Junior - 2
Junior Women - 0
Women - 2
Youth - 1
Classic - 6
Post Classic - 3

3 days to go.... and I'm still expecting another 80 plus entries!!

For those who have entered... have a think.... did you read your supp regs? PROPERLY??? Would be a shame to turn up at the Aussie Titles and have a penatly of 25 points added to your score BEFORE YOU EVEN START just cos you didnt read your supp regs properly....

Part 28.3 of the Supp Regs says your MAY receive a 25 point penatly for failing to comply with the supp regs, final instructions or any instruction given at riders briefing or by any official....

The question is... do I apply that penalty for those riders who havent done as stated in the Supp Regs in sections 5.4 and/or 6.4??

I might think on that one..... You better all hope i get out of bed on the right side tomorrow morning!!

I wonder how many other penalties may be applied to you over the weekend if you have not read the supp regs properly!?!

Thats it for now

Cheers

Ben

I for one will be VERY DISAPPOINTED if you DON"T apply the 25 point penalty (once or even twice as the case(s) may be), 'cause I need all the advantages I can get & a 50 point starting lead would really help :-)

oh & I did read 'em, just the postie takes a while to get the mail on the stage coach, which only runs that far north once a week anyhow.

Any chance of a riders list (as per Masters list) to make sure no mail has gone astray?

Just another quick update....

A rider list will be posted on the event website sometime over the weekend (when i get a spare minute of 3!!) so check the event website from hopefully saturday night...

To all the riders who waited till Friday 14th to ring me and say sorry... I forgot entries closed today... thanks for making life hard... Those "last minute" phone entries are still dribbling in via the mail... and I only count an entry as conformed when i had it and the money in my hard....

But we have 137 confirmed entries... and based upon the list of phone calls I have kept... but i havent seen paperwork from there should be another 10 turn up in the mail tomorrow or friday....

What isnt in the mailbox by friday will not be accepted anyway (regarless of whether they called b4 the close of entries or not).

So all up we are looking at a total field of 147... 1 rider short of the record field at Pacific Park in 2004. However, for those that know about it... If we can still get the Junior age limit rule changed before the event...(still no decision from MA yet) I have 3 entries sitting here on hold... so we would then have 150!

As for the question about sides of the bed i got out of.... no penalties will be imposed for not providing proof of age or a self addressed envelope.... HOWEVER... read your supp regs... penalties WILL be imposed without any prior warning for speeding in the carpark area.... riding before mach examination... or any otehr instructions given on the day or in final instructions (which will be mailed out next week).

For interest sakes... only 40% of the entries included a stamped self addressed envelope.... I know its not a big thing... but there is plenty of work to do to organise an event like this without having to spend a few minutes per entry writing out an envelope.... My time can be better spent doing other things.... Imagine what it would be like if you only got 5 sections per lap to ride... because i didnt get the chance to find more observers as i was priting on envelopes to return final instructions to everyone!!!

Cheers

Your updates Im sure, are much appreciated by all Ben, and you must have a good heart in ya to let off so many dorks for giving you that extra work load.
You were pretty right about some slack ar5e5 leaving things till the last minute, 137 is a great roll up, but you must be chuffed at maybe giving the entrant record a nudge.
Can you confirm that an infringement of the sub reg instructions by side car crazys incur a 25 x 2 point penalty (50) seeing they ride dangerously two up ? lol.
Look forward to the participation list.
