If anyone is looking for materials to make sections out of keep this in mind.
I was looking for something to make a counterweight to go on the back of my new tractor with front end loader (I buried the Chinese POS and bought a new Landini (Mmmm made in Italy is that a hint)).
Anyway the local garden supplies come Minimix casts up 600mm cubes from left over concrete that comes back in the trucks. I noticed they use them for walls to seperate soil and gravel in the loading bays. So I asked the guy how much for one of the blocks as it would be easy to make a frame to fit the tractor being a cube. $10 was the answer!!!
I don't know what other companies do with with their left overs but if a club was looking for cheap but very heavy building blocks it could be worth a look around to see. Another option could be to make your own moulds and get them filled for free for taking away the concrete. Maybe someone could make fake rocks with flat bottoms and a lifting loop to aid moving them????
Just a thought---------
I did consider adding a pic but I think most of us can picture a block of concrete without a visual aid
