In a recent post I came across what I believe to be an old wives tail:
Compressing forks while tying down WILL ruin fork seals.
Now I don't believe this to be true (willing to do the calcs for the seriously interested - no piss takers though, I'm a busy man).
I can also think of the following common misconceptions:
A big bore bike will make me ride better (excludes A grade/Experts)
Siliconing rear wheel rim tap will stop air leaking through spokes
Upping suspension preload will make springs stiffer (therefore better for big units like myself apperently)
Four strokes are AWESOME for trials (compared to 2strokes)
Has anyone got any others they'd like to add?
Cheers,
