Any suggestions or tips for maintaining your bike after riding in wet weather?
Thanks in advance,

Re: Wet Weather Care
Prevention is better than cure, well thats the proverb. How that applies to your bike is how much maintenance are you prepared to do now in the off season.
I would regrease with waterproof grease, the headstock bearings, wheel bearings, swingarm bearings, and try and lubricate the rose joints on the shock, and all moving parts like brake pedal, levers, footpegs etc. Replenished bearings repacked will help keep the water out. Inspection of these items will show if replacement is necessary.
Brake calipers can tend to seize after muddy conditions. I had this happen and a full pull down and relube with rubber grease and clean feed them up, not for the inexperienced and bleeding lines takes the most time.
You should have a good waterproof sparkplug cap, NGK do a good one.
Apart from that, some people get the CRC out and coat the engine, but it burns off pretty quick with engine heat, intended to coat the engine to prevent mud staining. A good strip back to bare frame end of season will clean the mud out that you cant wash off. Hose off mud as soon a possible when you get home, if not wash it.
Hope this helps a bit.

I would rather push my twinshock than ride a modern!

Re: Wet Weather Care
We ride in the wet almost every trial here :)
Wash the bike off, spray with WD40 type spray (apart from the discs!!) and wipe it down. Spray around the lectrics and on a Beta take the flywheel cover off and spray wd40 through the hole in the flywheel and let it drain away... or start it up and run for a short while. Check air cleaner and remove drain on float bowl to let anything run out... flush by turning fuel tap on for a few seconds. That should do it. On the Beta nothing rusts :)
