Personally, I think when you have your Birthday you should proceed to the next age group as everyone has the same oportunities in each class.

I thought Ben had it clarified for me, but your reply could put it back in the grey area again. What classes are you refering to? Are you talking MX or trials when your refering to ages & classes? If you are thinking trials, could you clarify for me how you interpert the new rule specificcaly re Juniors in trials.

Sorry to confuse you Cadman.
An example: Holly turns 16 on the 30 December 2006, in 2007 she will ride Open classes for all of 2007. Sam turns 16 on the 2 January 2007 so he gets to ride Juniors for all of 2007. Even though Holly is only 3 days older than Sam, Sam gets another year riding in Juniors. Does not quite seem fair, what do you think?

OK See your point, which was from a diff perspective to mine. In your case all I can suggest is Holly will have better B/DAY parties for the rest of her life than Sam will (as all his mates will always be hung over) OT & irrelevant I know, but I really do follow your point.

I was just concerned re the new rules, if a junior tried at one meeting & entered say c grade but didn't do to well, they would be stuck in c-grade for the rest of the year, at least MA's MX rules (are they ours also?) seemed to read that way until it was clarified.

Given that in Moto Trials.. we have no age divisions within the juniors... to my understanding the rule will have no effect on our juniors riding in a class other than juniors during the year and then returning to the Junior class at any time..

As best I can determine.... it only effects the day (year) they are no longer classed as juniors....

BAT woman's example is totally correct.... and yes it may seem unfair that although only 3 days different in Birthday.. one junior can ride the year in juniors while one cant....

But.... likewise... (under the old rules) if one was born in early October and the other in late october then one would be able to ride the nationals while the other couldn't.....

Under the new rules..... they could both rider the nationals...

Like all things there are pro's and con's for each different circumstance.....

Cheers

Ben
