im fiting a rear to my XR250 soon, and i do ride it on the road a fair bit.

are they suitable at speed? i ride out to menai from revesby and sit on 70kph most of the way....will a trials tyre be ok?

Dave,

You could hunt around and get a Pirelli trials pattern rear tyre. They are a harder compound than a competition tyre and will give much better wear. Not only that they are a tubed tyre so if you get a flat they are much easier to change. On the XR250 I think you will still get all the traction you need. I was planning on stocking them but haven't got around to it, they were standard issue on the Monty's in the mid 80's and I believe they are road legal.

Thanks bruce, my bike mechanic stocks all kinds of tyres ,and can get anything for just about any bike.

ill ask him about this brand of tyre....

My rear still has a few rides left in it, as soon as its fully over, im geting a trials tyre for sure.
