ok cool i had a look and i cant find the gray wire and when i asked at yamaha they said it didnt exist!?!?!

Must have just been on the 450's.

I have done the Throttle stop modification and the gray wire modification on my 2004 WR250F
Go to GOOGLE and type in yamaha wr250f throttle stop modification. you will find instructions and pictures here.
