I would like to know what classes you have such as age groups, and the rules and what times your are expected to finish each day, like I said we have never even seen an event and have just bought a ty175 jc for my 12 year old to ride but he will let me ride it in competition I think, is there anywhere I can find the rules seperate.
Thanks

I would not be surprised to hear we will be practicing this weekend at Brooweena.

This sounds like a pearler of an event, exactly what riding twinshocks is all about (in my humble opinion).

Can I ask roughly how many competitors and spectators you get there for the weekend?

I have finally got hold of a usable bike but I am still getting my eye in after over 25 years between rides.......next year.......

Hi Shaunb,

Brooweena has attracted about 30 riders across the three grades over the past two years. Interest is building so we are expecting a few more this year. There would be about the same number of spectators as well made up of wives, kids, locals and just interested people. Last year the vintage bike club turned up for a few hours on one of their rides.

Not big numbers but very very friendly people.

I think the MA bible says a twinshock classic is pre December 1986. The bike must have twinshocks and not fitted with disc brakes. All our bikes are pre 80 just because that is what we have. If your bike fits these criteria you should be right. Now on the off chance that I am wrong please don't hold me to that but I will ask the others to make sure.

Tony
If you aren't allowed to ride the TLR at Brooweena, you're welcome to ride something pre-80 of mine - your choice of which bike.

General information to clarify some questions I have been asked about Brooweena 2009.

The bike you need for Brooweena is a pre 1986 twinshock with drum brakes. We did only have pre 80 bikes a few years ago but that regulation has been relaxed to fit more with the MA definition.

Costs for Brooweena this year have not been finalised but $20 club membership and $15 single event licence will not be far off the money so I am told. Cheaper by $15 if you have a MA licence.

Just a quick word about Brooweena guys. I'm in the process of finalising the paperwork and while some of the info stated above is accurate, some isn't. The dates are right so that's the main thing. I should have everything sorted by the end of this week and when I do I'll start a new post titled "Official News-Brooweena '09". I'll have all the info in detail including host club, entry fees, machine eligability, camping, etc. I will also send this info, via email, to Angela Sophias (Rocky Trials Club) for her to forward to her email list.
Thanks.
