If you have the time to buy a tubeless rear tyre a few days before you want to fit it to a tubeless rim, it can be trained to sit against the bead seats by fitting a tube into the tyre and inflating it a bit - enough air to cause the tyre carcass to be held with the beads about 150mm apart.
Leave the tube in there until you are ready to fit the tyre to the rim. The beads will rest against the bead seats, creating a seal.
A useful technique for seating tubeless tyres with a limited compressed air supply is to remove the tyre valve core and fit the compressed air hose directly onto the valve body. This greatly increases the flow rate of the air while you are trying to get the beads to seat.

Whoa...The tyre guy down here wants around $180 for a rear tube type and $140 for the front. Am I being ripped?? I will ring the Brisbane connection and check. Thanks for the replies

Dunlop tyres are a bit of a con job as they are actually japanese Sumitomo tyres with the Dunlop logo moulded on.

Another point about fitting tyres to TY's. We have had about 12 TY's and corrosion inside the rim is common. Its advisable to carefully clean inside the rim, and I often spray silver paint there. There must be some mild electrolysis effect between the metals.

Scott, I ususlly deal with ben from Top Gun Yamaha. Say you were talking to me, Paul Baltzer the trials rider who said that is what he pays. I also find Team Moto will attempt to price match. Avoid those little sole proprietor type shops as they are unable to get deals from their suppliers on tyres as their volumes are so small. Ficeda is the importer and many of you will have the contacts to deal direct.

Thanks for the heads up, there is no real tyre' megastores' here in Newcastle. I will call ben up and see what he can do for me. Thanks again for all the help, seems Gladstone pays[via the nose] similar to Newcastle.
Cheers
Scott
