KT250 reproduction parts game

I think I might have to leave that one in your family. It might fit my 13 year old son (but probably not for long as he is growing like a weed). Also, he is a Honda guy, as I found him a TLM50 to learn on.

It has a bad gearbox oil leak and dried out tyres, but otherwise not too bad. I am planning to bring it along your next twinshock round to let the kids, wives and partners to have a go on some non threatening obstacles. It is amazing how tight I can get it to turn - just a pity that it doesn't have much snap...

What about a shirt that is a replica of a 1970s Kawasaki riding shirt? This is one I bought from METRO Racing in the USA and it is too big even for me. The label says XL but it is more like XXXL. I did wear it at a KT250 get-together a few years ago where we had seven KT250s at the same trial but the shirt still looks good. However there is a fly in this ointment - and the fly photo will follow.

David, you have set a formidable task here, now that I have seen the quality of Fred's parts and handled them, I am reserving my GUESS for a little longer.

Both yours and Julians bikes look great and I am using them as motivation to reduce the number of parts on mine, will be happy when I am down to just one!

Geez, with Greg getting involved, I won't stand a chance... especially if he is actually handling example of the items in question! Mind you, I could be catching up with Fred in the next week or 2, as I need to return his personal KT that I have been borrowing while he rebuilt my bottom end for me, so I might need to have a closer look.

I am pretty jealous of that top. Gonna have to look harder around the web.

Hmmm what do we do if Fred himself wants to do the quiz game? Surely he would have a bit of an advantage because the parts came from him!!! Even Fred might find it a bit tricky because not all the Fred Carter sourced parts were on the KT when the photos were taken
Well Julian, being the only entrant so far you are definitely in the lead. I was hoping that some non-KT riders I rode my KT with last weekend would have a go, but so far it is just you. Maybe, like Greg, they will put their entries in sometime nearer the cut-off time.
Wow that Fantic shirt is bright. I guess we were almost into the fluro era by then. There is some great replica riding gear around now. A modern replica of that shirt my daughter was wearing can be sourced - not with Hutt Motorcycle Centre on the back though. I can't recall right now where they come from. It might also be Metro Racing like the long sleeved replica Kawasaki shirt.

Hi Greg,
The not quite so secret weapon should be ready for a test ride at the MTCQ club trial in just over a week, where I will try to learn to ride it, and then in the absence of any big problems it should be right to make an appearance at Conondale, even though it isn't Japanese.

Its a big step to go from ugly and orange to pretty and green. I hope I can do it justice.

Handlerbars are very cool Tricub specials so not them; the stops on the shockies are handcrafted in Gladstone to exacting standards so there out;
Side covers, front and back mudguards, airbox boot and a fuel cap!!!!
Now wheres me shiny gold thingos?

I'd like to modify my answer to say that the handlebars are repro, but not from Fred (just because I've seen another thread where David has admitted as much...).

We had the second round of our local twinshock series on Sunday and there were 4 green Japanese bikes represented. What's more they took out the first 3 placings in B grade!
