Tony Bax won the Classic-pre-65 class on this Tiger Cub. At the trophy presentation, the Queen classic hit "We are the champions" accompanied Tony's acceptance speech.

Great collection of old bangers there - nice to see them out and ridden,not polished or hidden.Ron Chadwicks rigid/girder forked bike looks like a 1930's BSA and the yellow tanked rigid is another BSA,this one looks like an M20 side valve - BSA made 126,000 of them for the armed forces in WW2.(Bloomin heavy for a trials bike...)

These posts from Conondale have really made me homesick as it was always a great event with a great atmosphere and I am still wallowing about in thick mud in the UK.
There are a few more classic bikes this year by the look of it and it was so good to see the pics posted, good on ya guys for putting them up and I see it has already drawn a comment from the UK. We have been riding in the wettest summer in 100 years over here and I can imagine the lovely warm conditions for the event over there.
The only criticism I offer from a distance is the number of marks lost by some of the riders after the first couple of places. Be careful organisers, don't start making the sections too difficult for these old bikes in order to stop the best riders, cater for the majority not the minority and it doesn't matter if the top guys loose below 5 marks, who cares, but when they start loosing 60 or 80 marks in a one day event watch them disappear to the back of the shed again.
I now have two Cubs in the UK, one of which is "hopefully", my eligible and legal Pre 65 Scottish bike for next May's event and they will both be coming back to Aus when the time comes.

WDTC made a concious effort to make the Classic lines easy but stuffed up on 2 sections. One deteriorated with mud and the other rock section proved much more difficult than anticipated but not threatening to life or machine.
With regard to the scores - all scores over 100 were for the riders who rode the Intro line and they agreed to have 100 added to the scores. The Classic riders who rode the white arrow by choice were the winners and these sections suited most of them. So whilst the scores looked high, I believe that most riders enjoyed the day and would come back again.
There was a separate set of sections for the Moving Display class where there were no rocks or logs - just turns of various difficulty and slopes. The riders rode as a group and modified the sections between rounds to add variety
We had hoped that the Moving Display class would bring out a lot of the heavyweights owned by Historic Club members who don't normally ride MQ trials. However it was the usual suspects who rode but they brought out heavyweights that they normally don't ride and it made a great display. Some provided their normal lightweights to others to ride in the Classic class to add to the numbers.
