Bloody Betors!

They do'nt even fulfill the requirements of a beer can 'cos they cant retain liquid.

Quick, throw them as far away from you as you are able and then run in the other direction before they hit the ground and squirt oil ( or what passes for oil in the Betor"factory" ) all over your shins.

There is a reason that you are all discussing rebuilds on Betor shocks!

Buy Falcons or NJB from the UK. Under 200 quid for the NJBs and they fall through your letter box within 2 weeks and you dont have to frolic about fixing them.

Tell Norman at NJB how heavy you are and what sort of mods you have made to what sort of bike and mention the section type and he will tailor-make a set for you.

Of course this is all too late for you poor ( and poorer) bastards who have already shelled out for "Beater" shocks, but you live and learn.

Joe.

Hi
I have bent my Betor shocks several times and straightened them several times. ( with a pretty crude method and they still seal well with the original seals)

Any way I measured the oil when I rebuilt one that had not leaked, it was close to 80ml. So thats what I use.

I just pump in as much air pressure as my compressor will give. Approx 90psi.( I know u a supposed to use nitrogen and it would probably a higher pressure)
The shocks still can be moved by hand. Seem to handle ok for me.

Saying that I would not say I am any expert in shock set up.

cheers
