Hi Evertone,

TerrY, It doesn't seem to matter which Chadwick, with Ruben winning the Twinshock Masters last year, it is the most prolific name on the trophy! Here is one I prepared earlier:

David Lahey wrote:Pretty sure both of those RLs of yours are repaints Greg

David, the later RL [top of photo] has been repainted, the previous owner said he painted it the same. My loan bike [bottom of photo and above] may have been repainted, but I thought it was the original paint.

Paulo, not sure if this photo from genuine parts manual helps, but the spring is definitely different?

While I think of it 520 11T and 50T works best for me.

Chippy and David, nice photos and some nice bikes always at Conondale!

Both of mine are missing the airboxes and the parts book makes it look like a small version of 247 airbox

Greg Harding, I've seen the 247 look alike airbox, however every 172 airbox I've ever seen in Australia is a square plastic box with one corner champered & a foam sandwich for filter, I don't know that they were that gr8 of a box as air intake is very minimal & the sandwich was a dicky sort of affair that required a bit of siliconing around the seals

No problems at all Greg! It's amazing that such a book has gone out of circulation when it's really one of a very small handful of books on the topic.

Thanks Greg, I'm now not sure if that chain tensioner was even fitted to the bike when I got it! it may have been in the box of bits , but I don't remember that being the case. Either way, i'll be buggered if I can figure out how to attach it so I'm assuming it's a ring in. Looks like I need an RL250 chain tensioner, anyone have a spare in any salvageable condition?

Paulo, here is the Genuine part you need, it is not Shiney like your :suzuki , but something tells me you have a Remedy? Would you be interested in swapping as I have a TL125 that really should have a chain tensioner and fitting it is not an Issue!

Paulo's chain tensioner looks like a TLR one to me. So it should be at home on a TL Greg!

I recently inquired about a Montesa 172 air box, this is what I was looking for.
