Hi Everyone,
That airbox looks more modern than the one I am familiar with, did you buy It?

Greg Harding, The air box pictured is actually off the first model 172's & 123's ( from memory) I didn't know about the 247 look alikes or the up ended 247 air box with the straight connector, neither of which offer any needed support ( Imo) the 247 gets away with it (not really) because the front flange is larger. The problem with the lack of support is it allows the carby body to flex which can cause the slide to jam, usually wide open, the problem is more common thru over tightning the front flange bolts. Old Amals should have this surface checked for trueness also the often missing gasket really needs to be there & the rubber o ring in good condition. I also kinda remember that air box filter as not being much good, the bike I remember it off was 2nd hand in 76 so I'm thinking it was probably a 74/75 model.

Greg Harding, forgot to add, no I didn't buy it, the advertised ( surely couldn't be real) price was 90 Euro/British/strange pound things & I'm sure it converts to ridiculous Aussiebucks, think I'll go for a bit of Rh angle silicon pipe of the right dimentions & stick a dust jacketed pod on attached to the triangle in the fame under the seat via a bracket spot welded to the top of the pod.

Hi
I just thought I would share photos of two side stands that were on old ty frames before i removed these classic items.
The second one was the best. 30 x 30 box with coach bolt.
Cheers

the second one looks like it might have stuck out a bit when it was retracted. Most A model frames I've come across just have the stub of the mounting lug left after the outer bit of the lug has broken off. Looks like one of yours there still has an intact lug!
