I have one of those Cotas in the shed, bought as basket case. Must put it together one day (soon, hopefully)

I've got one also John, not quite a basket case but needs a serious refurb, it's a project for the future as I don't have the time or inclination to do anything about it at present, pretty bike though. Check out the brochure shot I've attached.
You could sell me yours if you ever want, I'm sure I'll be looking for certain bits and pieces when I eventually refurbish mine.

Hi Dave Some nice Hondas, they are words i didn't expect from you. The works Honda is a RS250T .It's lives in my shed .There is a very good article in trials and track regarding the mods ie four nails suspension . 99% completed just searching out a header pipe to complete. Cheers Baxy

It looks like a previous owner of my old LW 247 was aware of the frame cracking problems and came up with this solution of wedging heavy duty hydraulic tubing between engine and frame to act as a shock absorber, it appears to have worked as I can't see any cracks in my frame although there is some grease and gunge in the way.

I'm full of surprises hey Baxy. I actually love riding Honda 4 stroke trials bikes but my brain has trouble adapting when swapping between them and two strokes.

Very creative approach. It's fun to discover the weird stuff that people do.

Sorry, I missed this Rod. Yes, I agree regarding the 247 style. I have that brochure too. No doubt the 348 was a better bike, but I much prefer the look of the 247 once they went to the slimmer tank and smaller hubs. I have occasionally considered selling. Will let you know if I decide to do so.
Yours looks pretty good for a bike of that age.
I do like the 330 Cotas too but have never seen one in Oz

Yeah I like the look of the 330 also, I know of at least two in storage in SE Qld, one being an ex Shane Mitchell bike.
From memory Shane preferred the smaller and lighter 242 when they became available due to it being easier to do the hops and tricks that were becoming prevalent at the time.
Don't know why they ditched the alloy bash plate no frame rails of the 349/4 and 350 for full underbelly frame rails on the 330, almost seems a backward step as the 349/4 & 350 had good reports back then. Possibly a Honda decision ?
