and low front guard
and different fork bottles
The later triple clamps and small front hub looks the same as whats on the MAR
Both sets of forks look like the bottles are made of steel
The early triple clamps look like they have angular offset, later triple clamps look parallel

Re: Showcase Time - Classic era bikes
I met Colin Dommet, a couple of times, many years ago when I was riding classic trials in Cornwall. The first time was when he gave a talk for a few hours, At a Local pub for Launceston MC, on trials riding, his life as a works rider, with many unseen personal photo's.
Then second time whilst riding back to the car park, on my 199cc James Captain, I broke the primary chain. The hill up to the car park was long and step. Colin rode past me, on a Cotton, Stopped and assisted me pushing the James up the hill, walked back down the hill, and got his Cotton. Then came up and had a talk about the history on my James.
One of Cornwall's greatest trials Riders, and a great bloke.
Great Thread, keep them coming.

Re: Showcase Time - Classic era bikes
There was an early 1960s 125 Stornello trials special for sale at a local swap meet up here a couple of years ago. The frame and engine looked original but it had a Honda TL125 front end and wheels. The motor looked so much better made than pre-65 pommy stuff that I was accustomed to looking at, that I had trouble believing it was really pre-65.

I think he still has it and other Stornello stuff besides. We had a chat at the recent CQ Twinshock Challenge at Lowmead where he was spectating, but I didn't think to ask about the Moto Guzzi stuff.
He was also selling a complete Mk2 Matador (radial head fin model) a while back. Being a 1966 model and having a four speed motor, that one would probably make a good basis for a Classic trials bike if we ever got a pre-68 class going.

Dave, I wonder if he might become another classic competitor (perhaps with some suitable encouragement) ??
