Cota 348 Trail and Track

I have always thought that the Cota 348 was an amazing looking trials bike.
When they came out I couldn't afford one but eventually did and this satisfied my quest to know what they are like to ride.
Being so different-looking, they really shook up the trials scene in 1976.

I think our ole mate Jeff Gough won the Aussie Title on the 348 in 1977, same year as that magazine article.

1970s sidecar action in NSW

Tonight, Ray Vinton sent these old photos of Peter Paice's 360cc

TY250D. It was used for both solo and sidecar trials.
Two of the photos show Peter and his competition "passenger" and the photo in the rocky car park is of Peter and Ray Vinton.
Ray says:
These were snapped by Terry Galloway, in those days a rider on a

TY175 and worked as a reporter for a Penrith news paper.
Regards
Ray Vinton

Honda Bials test in Two Wheels magazine

Ray Vinton has confessed to being the

rider in this cover photo from this Two Wheels magazine. I'm pretty sure that

TL125 test is in this forum "Magazine Articles" already but now we know, or are reminded of, who was in the cover photo.
Ray was reminded of it when reading a more recent Two Wheels magazine. The person who wrote the TL125 test was Brian Cowan, who Ray knew from when he visited the Blacktown, Sydney bike shop called Motocross.
Ray wrote
"I bought a Two Wheels mag some years ago and the editorial inside said "25 years ago" it was a photo of me on the "Biles" from the front cover when we did write up on the "Biles" the statement said something like "who is this fool, no gloves, no protective clothing, no helmet and only rubber boots.
I admit to being that fool, but, it was a sign of the times.
Regards
Ray Vinton"

1973 Victorian Titles

Ray Vinton sent this bit of history and I thought it might bring back some memories.
Looks like model 92 Bultacos were popular at the time, but I think Chris Leighfield would probably have been on an OSSA MAR

I don't have much in the way of pictures on a Montesa from 1972-73 just a low quality pic from '73.
I did come across a video on youtube a little while back of a trial at Yarra Glen...starts with some sidecar action and then at ~25 secs, Dad is riding the Montesa (not sure of exact year...but early 70's):
https://youtu.be/rHGexcXEmF8From the mid 70's onwards when he was back on a Montesa...there are a few photos from magazines earlier in this thread.
