Well, actually I do. And if you had a good look at mine you'd see why I don't even own a lock and chain. I can't imagine that anybody else might ever want to be near it let alone on it.

Mark,
Surely your bike isn't that much of a turn off.

Have you put some Panvax in the tank. Does your bike have a Swine Flu infection?

Yes, but then you haven't set your eyes upon its dirty ugliness.

Of course really there is only 2 things it needs to fix it all up. It needs one of those breather tubes that comes out of its fuel cap. And then it just needs a new bike to put in under the breather tube. Even after that it would still be a TY, which is why I'm following this thread with such interest. Mine doesn't seem to have any of the looks or character of yours. At least it still is a good match for my lack of talent.

ha ha ha good one.

Tell ya what. There is a 1974 RL250 for sale in Port Kembla. It's on Gumtree.

It needs a lot of work.
There's a 1 litre ding in the alloy tank on the top. The tank isn't creased. It's repairable.
The seat has a big chunk taken out of the centre. It can be fixed.
It has the steering lock (I want that part)
It needs new bars and levers.
The engine has a little slap but nothing to worry about.
It needs new guards and side covers.
Really, it's a fixer-upper.
I was going to offer a "spare bike" amount for it but I chose not too.

The TY wont be going on the road, the DT will be soon. I'm giving the TY a cleanup and a Xmas pressie or 5 after next weeks Trial at Appin. It was good to see you have a good go at the Mt Kembla trial last weekend. How you did not scratch your tank when sliding down next to the bike on the hillclimb fun is beyond me. It must have been the clay and mud that cushioned it.

It's a super thick polyeurethane 2 pack paint. What makes it better is that it's orange. Orange is a scratch resistant colour. It's somewhat realted to the alloy that is bonded to Wolverine's skeleton.

A sequel is coming soon. I need to force myself to get some study done. I have exams in 3 weeks.
The bikes are chained up and I have thrown the key away. I have also chained the TY up even though my Dad has paid for it. Just in case I find an excuse to ride it. The other TY is still in bits and all the bits are chained up too. A gift to myself after I finish my exams is an angle grinder... A new angle grinder, seeing that I had to throw mine away with the key to the pad lock.
