Greg
How unusual it was to have 3 Fantics at one event in Tasmania.
I enjoyed riding round with you, and checking out the lines to take.
Donna has some nice photo's of the Mt Joy site here. The only comment I would make is.....perhaps you could smile a little when Donna takes your picture?
If you focus on smiling perhaps you will put your foot down a little more often Ha ha.
A lot of mainland state riders come for a ride and have a holiday in Tas, either before or after the Tas 2 Day Tas Title Trial.
We can store riders bikes for them while they do the tourist thing.
I hope you are enjoying your holiday at the moment.
Ps - Development work on the Fantic continues in the secret Fan Tas Tic workshop..... only in the dark of the night....

Very nice Brian, you have me curious about the rear mudguard. What is it off and any chance of posting closer photos, maybe from above?

We are having a great holiday thankyou Ian. Seeing 3
FANTICs lined up to ride a section was new to me as well. Mount Joy presented us with shale rocks that splinter off and slide about under your tyres, I have not ridden anything like it, but what a Beautiful place with cleverly set sections! Going new places and seeing how things are done has always interested me and everyone has their own ideas on how to do things.
Nigel was kind enough to give us a guided tour through the Man/Bike Cave today, some pristine and some works in progress, some quite Exotic! Now that is the biggest collection of
FANTICs I have Seen!
Here is a sneak peak of Ian's
FAN
TIC, I especially like the

back wheel spinning backwards, that is my kind of technology! The

should express my feelings:

The rear mudguard is from Shedworks & it's called an EVO mudguard for Honda tlr 250, unfortunately it's not very flexible so i hope i don't crash to much

I've been working on my Cota 348 for weeks now trying to get it running better, so I can be part of the dinosaur, behemoth, gigantor or whatever it is unofficial class that Greg Harding dreamed up for the Easter 2 day trial
Part of that work was repacking the main exhaust and the end muffler
I got quite a surprise when I cut the back off the main section because the packing was made of something quite unexpected. If anyone knows what the original packing in these things is, please don't let on just yet until a few people have had a stab at it

Steel wool and wasp nests?
Yes BOGWHEEL, and you just beat sherpa, who also got the right answer. It was steel wool, tightly wound and there was a hellavalot of it and it took ages to get it all out
Sorry Terry, I managed to delete your bit about the writing on the flywheel.
The written reminder on the flywheel is mainly for my crap memory. It's been about 3 years since I had that flywheel off last and it is so nice to have a reminder like that when you are in a hurry to get ready for Easter. I also write on some motors that don't say on them how much oil to put in (like the mower)
