Hi Everyone,

All good Julz, I assumed you came in late with New Zealand being 23 hours behind us.

Billy, that is the chook that gets out most days and lays an egg outside the bedroom window.

Mark, flinging the KT into the air would explain why the first photos were a little blurred but that is not how it was done. The images were photo-cropped but definitely not photo-shopped and even my backyard backgrounds are backwards. What I mean is, that is the view out the front door of my workshop, I planted most of the trees and I am happy with the progress.

So congratulations Mark for successfully negotiating your way around the conundrum and being first to the next level......

...more like riding two broomsticks eight inches apart. At least with no fuel tank and no chain it'd run nice and quietly - downhill, but not so good anywhere else.

A feature of many TY175 motors is the sloppy wobbly gearshift shaft. Today I had a soul-food workshop session re-bushing a couple of them.
The standard aluminium cover has a cast-in cast-iron bush and a lip seal. These covers had the cast iron bushes bored out and replaced with brass bushes.
I machined the OD of the bushes on an arbour so I could be sure that the shifter hole would be coaxial with the OD.
I machined the holes in the covers using a face plate because I don't have a 4 jaw chuck.
The new bushes are a push fit in the covers.
I made the new bushes the same length as the old ones so there is space to fit lip seals.
A remnant of one of the cast iron bushes can be seen in the last photo.

That looks good David. I just bought one of those magnetic dial gauge holders with a dial gauge last Thursday. Now I know another way I can use it. Graham.
