IMPORTANT NOTICE TO FAMILIES WISHING TO ENTER MWMCC Rd3 OPEN @ PACIFIC PARK 22/05/11
As no provision has currently been offered by the promoter to families wishing to enter this event, the NSW Moto Trials Promoting Committee has decided to reimburse those families that enter this event.
The family entry fee for previous NSW Open events has been $90.
We will reimburse the difference between your entry fee & $90.
Enter as per the supplementary regulations & bring your proof of entry/receipt to the event.
An announcement regarding reimbursement will be made prior to the start of the event.
As a side note, the NSWMTPC has no power/control over the supplementary regulations lodged by any Club for any event. We are unable to dictate any conditions regarding any event irrespective of how we feel about them.
We are a group of like minded riders attemting to progress trials in NSW, that was formed approx 2 years ago when the MNSW Moto Trials Committee disbanded.

The AJS Moto Trial Club of SA have an Adult plus all dependant children/students as family. My daughter is 22 and at University and we enter as a family. If my other daughter who is working rode she would pay a separate adult entry fee.
Re: Round 3 NSW Moto Trials Championship
$90(Family – if living at the same address limit to 1 senior).
It's unusual to have 2 parents ride as well as dependants, however this is starting to happen.
At the moment the above clause is in place but this may be reviewed at an upcoming Committee meeting as well as Minder fees.

Re: Round 3 NSW Moto Trials Championship
Congratulations to the NSW Moto Trials Promoting Committee for seeing a problem and providing a solution! If event organisers don't take on board the requests of the users, there is no point organising anything.
Also congrats to the SQTA for obviously providing an avenue for the sport that is sought after in their area. My only concern is the comment:
"trials is predominantly a family sport and if it is going to prosper it is the families, not the solo's, that need to be catered for by making it affordable as they are the ones that usually can afford it least but often times contribute the most."
It is a proven fact by other sports that nothing grows a sport more on a domestic level than a World Championship title holder or a gold medallist living in the area. Children especially, need sporting heroes. The elite and the "newcomers" are equally as important, as without one, you don't have the other.
If the risk of some riders abusing the "family" membership is a problem, simply add conditions as mentioned. e.g. "1 adult and 3 children max" or "dependants" or "must be living under the one roof". Late entrants - charge them an extra $10 on the day or they don't start. They will either happily pay the extra, or get their entries in on time.
Another "2 bobs worth" which might add up when we are all added together! Perhaps a fund raising plan?

Re: Round 3 NSW Moto Trials Championship
Fair comment Axel but I was merely refering to entry fees, not a jihad on solo riders. It is the solo rider who can afford to pay entry fees far easier than families can in my opinion. I don't know whether you have kids but if not try multiplying what ever you spend on trials by three or four. Just as well it is a cheap sport and probably why there are so many families involved in it in the first place.
We've addressed it in SQTA and are reaping the rewards for doing so and certainly don't put too many officious constraints on it either.

Re: Round 3 NSW Moto Trials Championship
And has anyone considered making an online entry form? So people can fill in their entry and submit it directly on Trial Aus, and all the details go to an administrator, with options for people to direct debit their entry fee. I have lost count of the amount of times I have filled out an entry form and never made it to the post office.
Kdog this is a great idea. One that was recently discussed with Mick R. Other motor sports do this. What is the blocker to this happening? Is it the fact that few Trials clubs allow direct debit payment and we have to pay by chq or money order?
Very interested to hear from people in the know?

Shane and Kristie
And has anyone considered making an online entry form?
Yes that is in the pipeline. Ross and Sue Middleton turned us onto a great system that Sue uses in the Equestrian field. We are trying to find a way to do it. it has online payments, and by the sounds of it is an excellent program.
Sorry there is only a hand full of us that contribute to the admin of events in NSW, so things do take time, and it's not as straight forward as just downloading a PDF as you can imagine!
Accounts for entry payments have to be set up.
it is run through a third party company
Each round is run by a different club and hence payments, correspondence etc all go to different people each round
etc etc.
Hopefully you will see it's implementation soon.

Re: Round 3 NSW Moto Trials Championship
Hi all
I would like to start this with a round of applause
what a great and very generous thing the nsw sub committie has offered to familys trying to afford to get to this trial. In my opinion this a huge leep forward for trials in a bid to get more feet on peg's at these events and glad that some common sense has come out of all this.
However i beleave that this generous offer has given the organiser of the event a win win situation where they get more people at the event and still get the high price of entry for themselves insted of the club fixing the problem and offering what every other club allready offers.

Re: Round 3 NSW Moto Trials Championship
Hey Paul, would it create any problems having riders register their intentions with an entry form via email and have them pay and sign on the day? Seems to work for us but we only hold one of those types of pre entry event per year, the rest are psuedo enter on the day type clubdays. There may be a small no show factor but that may be offset by more entering because of the convenience factor.
Just trying to offer some constructive input after starting from scratch and having three years of R&D under our belts.
