The speedo and cable I am still stuck on. Still haven't received the speedo yet to get an idea of how long inner cable will end up? Anyone have any idea what is meant to go on that threaded section? Everyone I've spoken to is lost so far.
Your cable in the photo is made for a front backing plate like a TY175/TY250. The cable outer end-piece is retained with a wire clip that expands into a groove in the backing plate
I have no idea what a TL125 backing plate should look like but your backing plate cable connection reminds me of 1960s and 1970s Japanese road bike speedo cable attachments.
Your threaded section is for a cast alloy or cast zinc serrated nut to thread onto. The outer cable end for that type of attachment will have a ferrule with a flange. The cast nut pulls the flange against the end of the threaded section.
