Hi Everyone,
David that would be great if you had some spare TY175 clutch springs. Would you also have a spare TY250 scree in fork top as well? One of mine is very burred.. I’ll get some photos up shortly.

Welcome Cota123. That is a shame they through those parts out, because sometimes people with the correct equipment can fix some things..
I’ll have a look as I do have a very small amount of Cota123 parts.
Do you have any photos of your basket case?

Bit late on this part of the thread; I do have a set of used TY250 clutch springs if anybody can use them.

Chippy, while I was looking for TY250 fork caps for you tonight I remembered a story that has some relevance.
Back in the mid 1990s my old TY175B was in a very sad state but I really wanted to ride in the then new-fangled Twinshock class at the Aussie titles. There was no internet or aftermarket parts suppliers for 1970s bikes back then. I managed to find a very original-looking TY250A for sale in Just Bikes magazine and it was only about 2.5 hours away from me in Bundaberg, at the Harley dealer. I went straight there after work and bought it. The bloke there stayed back at work especially.
Anyway when I went to replace the 20 year old fork seals, I found that one fork cap was stuck in place. No way could I move it. Before I destroyed it too much I took it to the local Yamaha shop where I knew there was an experienced motorcycle mechanic and paid to have the old cap removed. I just noticed they charged me $17 to take the cap out.

While I was there I bought a new Genuine Yamaha replacement cap. It was amazing what you could buy for 20 year old Yamahas back then. It's still not bad even now because they have started making some parts again for old bikes once enough people ask about them.
The photos are of the top part of the first page from my log book for that bike and a photo showing the difference between the original cap type TY250 cap on the left, and the replacement TY250 cap on the right.

Couldn't agree more, there is no such thing as TOO many photos!

Would that be a centre-port TS185 kickstart? Sure looks less anchorish than the standard item. Of course that would mean that my "sensible cable routing" :) was compromised. Your clutch cable routing continues to be sane and sanitary

and here are some "modified" KT250 fork caps I also found

and the fork cap that the Yamaha shop removed for me

and the fifth TY175 clutch spring from the set where four of the five went in my KT
