Looks quite like a twin-shock to me, and also rides like one! Albeit not anywhere near as well as a nicely built bog stock 200 or 240 Fantic.

Still not sold it then - if its not as good as a stock Fantic then perhaps thats the reason why....(Its not like there are no Fantics left to buy) Should have been left as a mono and ridden in an AC mono class.

The TY was built out of parts several years ago, and I guess many people are put off owning/riding anything along these lines due to a very vocal minority here in the UK, who strongly suggest such bikes provide an unfair advantage. This certainly isn't the case, and the only real advantage gained by anyone riding a converted TY is a bike thats very reliable, and has cheap and easily available parts. Most avoid the AC mono class due to the fact that very few ride these bikes, and even if there is an ACM class in local events there might only be 1 or 2 entrants.

Is that more to your liking I wonder Jon? Effectively the TS equivalent of a modern day "P65", but built in a garden shed for about 1/4 of the cost of the "P65" bike!

The 29 bike, whats going on at the clutch end of the handle bar, is that just a hand guard or something else?

Both bikes were built by Jon Bliss, and the silver Yam rides and handles pretty much like a modern machine. Yellow one is much more like a twin-shock, but alterations to the intake and exhaust system means it runs far better than most TY Monos. In the UK either of these bikes will result in a lot of negative comment, with most claiming they offer an unfair advantage.................funny thing is I dont think any of those making these comment have tried either bike, so not sure what their views are based on?

ok i thought so, these are the type of bikes I like, anyone who has raced/riden a stock standart bike will know just how bad and dangerously unpredictable they are compared to a fully modified/worked/factory bike. Good on him, I would fully support that scene. :thumb:

Thats pretty much the case, and personally I have never ridden any twin-shock bike that works better than the silver Yam pictured.

Heres something I have ridden and yes, apart from the motor running as badly as air-cooled Yam mono motors usually do, it was pretty good to ride for something with two shocks.
See if anyone can work out how it was put together
