You could try 'blacking out' (or greying out) what needs trimming to get some idea of what it might look like.

Or would it be worth considering a '76 style tank and try some separate sidepanels of your own design to suit the frame?

Motor-wise, I'd go with Greg's suggestion.

@ David - What model engine are you looking for to put in your SM frame?

Would that frame have been a replacement for a m125/151, did any soler models have homelite tank/seats in the UK.
Has your m80 tank side panels been cut to fit a m49 air box

I'm after a 325 that has the big crank wheels which I think came out first in the 159 (so 159, 183, 199) or a square barrel 250 (so 158, 182, 198)

Thanks Ross. Even though it looks like from the frame number that it was made in 1975, the frame design of my SM frame is similar to series 1 91/92 Bultaco except it has laid down shocks and no tubes under the engine.

I thought that when they brought out the Soler models in the UK they came with an aluminium tank shaped similar to the fibreglass Soler tank rather than the Homelite tank.

Yes it looks like that M80 tank side panel was cut to fit a model 49 airbox but I think the model 80 it came on has a model 80 airbox. I'll have a look. I'm not even certain about that tank being from my model 80 though because at about the same time that I bought the model 80 bike, I also bought a model 80 frame and tank and I'm not sure now which tank is which. John Cuff may remember.

Yes, agreed, that looks very nice!

Dave I don't recall that cutout (to suit the M49 airbox) or that seat being on the M80 I had.
