Dear Greg,
Try Steve Hardaker at Bradford Ignitions on
[email protected] and on the eponymous website
He is now based in Spain and worked wonders on my Fantic ignition at a very reasonable cost.
I sent the ignition and back plate off and the repaired and improved set up fell through my letter box in about two weeks.
Any second hand igntion parts of the same age will probably exhibit the same faults as yours.
I know that was the case with the Fantic.
I bought three coils off BastardBay (American seller, $20.00 for the bits and $75.00 for the postage that showed as $15.00 on the package...typical!) and none of them was any good.
We all age at the same rate!
I may have to actually get off my shiny arse and finish off the rebuild on my M 115 Alpina and join in with this vinduro lark.
Where do I find out more about it?
Regards,
Joe Henderson.

The US guy selling Fantic "ignition" coils actually has lighting coils on sale, which obviously mean an ignition system wont work when one of these is fitted. I mailed and pointed this out to him months ago, but he is still selling them today!
The Dansi systems fitted to Fantic, are very easily repaired by getting the source coil rewound (motor rewind places can sometimes do them), and using a CDI/Coil unit intended for a Vespa scooter, which are cheap and easily available.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you all for the help and advice, I have Peter at Bultaco Parts looking and was hoping a new old stock would be OK. Thinking that deterioration would only come from use or corrosion, maybe I have got this wrong?
Graham, have not ruled out converting to points and I may try to fit my M49 ignition?
Joe, I will pass on info to a friend that owns the Fantic 240 in my shed with weak spark. Have given him a shopping list and he is saving as he is keen to get it rideable.
David, thanks for looking for the part for me.
Below is a photo of some of the rocks that I have been riding last week, can anyone identify my bike in the picture?

Hello Greg, I think your bike is disguised as one of the sticks poking up out of the water. A true master at the art of deception. A handlebar end looks a lot like a stick from a distance. I had a look and I would say that your ignition is of a M120 or 121 which is a MK 7 Pursang. They had the Femsatronic and look exactly the same as yours. You can buy accessory ones of those as well. Graham.

Hi Everyone,
Graham, generally try to avoid submerging bikes since the yellow submarine incident!
Perhaps you can see the size of the rocks now..................
........................kind of gives it away which bike it is though.

Ohhhh...I get it....... you have made a scale model of a TLR to make the rocks look bigger?
No No No No No No that's not right - you got Donna to ride her TLM up to the top of a huge rock and then she hid in the bushes for a trick photo?
