Clearly Pimping My Ride started at an early age…
Date line: 1969, Bradford - West Yorkshire
Bike: 1960 Model Lambretta Li 150
Mods:
Body work - Hand painted in my bedroom (blue and white) with Belco Brushing Cellulose – (Mum was particularly impressed by that)
Rear crash bar – Pram handle borrowed from little brother’s pram – (Mum even less impressed)
Rear antennae – mild steel rod ‘appropriated’ from Dads shed and covered with self adhesive ‘Chrome’ tape
Flag – hand made ‘Ban the Bomb’ embroidered by Mum (she’d forgiven me by then)
Rear Chrome disk- ‘appropriated’ from neighbours Commer Van
Rear view Mirrors - ‘appropriated’ from various sources (sorry to all…)
Rear view Mirror arms - mild steel rod ‘appropriated’ from Dads shed and covered with self adhesive ‘Chrome’ tape
Mirror mounting brackets – Laboratory clamps ‘appropriated’ from School chemistry Lab (sorry Mr Smeddley)
Fly screen – Cut down from full size screen with hacksaw blade ‘appropriated’ from Dads shed wrapped in one of little brothers nappies ‘appropriated’ from laundry basket.

Mum may have been unimpressed by my antics above but, obviously it runs in the family…

Mum, about 1945 on what is clearly a Well Pimped up ride.

Love the two photos, Paul.
Not sure if your mum's outfit would pass as suitable riding attire these days!

I definitely think you win the prize for the best 'home modified' bike. =D>

You certainly have got some classic photos in your collection!
I'm remembering the "flared-pants, museum-item-shoes whilst leaning-on-the-old-car-many-years-ago" photo, you listed in a different thread on a previous occasion.

Regards
Maree

I think they are standard issue on all the new Sherco R's. After watching Cabanosi lately it's a perfect place for a dummy spit!
We can crate and freight bikes Australia wide for very reasonable rates. Ring or email with your location for freight quote.
