No doubt we'll move onto other makes in due course but its good to give these rarer bikes like Jawa-CZ some airtime.

Geoff, those Ruttloff Jawas you put me onto look pretty trick to me.
Can you identify what model they are based on? Engine, frame, forks wheels??
Did he cast his own alloy barrels?
Interesting route for the clutch cable/actuation.

David, is that the pic of the twinport Jawa you were thinking of? Or do you have some others?

Here's a pic of a Ruttloff Jawa in action

Hi All, I am not exactly sure but from my discussions with Gunter some time ago (My German is not very good) I think the front of the frame is 450/470/455 based and the subframe is MZ. As are the wheels, forks and triple tree. He casts and makes up the right engine covers with that long clutch throwout arm but I don't know why as you can't get a nicer clutch than the standard arrangement. Although it is very important to keep the standard mechanism clean and lubricated. Alloy barrels were made by the factory for these engines but if this is a factory one or not I don't know. They made them up to 350cc capacity. I would like to buy one my self as the standard barrel is very heavy. Any way some more images as this is really what the thread is about. Forgive the French.
Regards Geoff.

Gents, I hope my earlier request to watch the tone of our posts didn't deter anyone from posting here. Apologies if it did. Feel free to engage/post.

Here's a couple of Italian treats & some unit BSAs.

Hi Everyone,

John, I really like your thread, your idea to promote Classics through the bikes is GOLDEN! =D> =D> =D>

We must not forget the bikes Born in the USA! Starting production in 1963, hopefully it complies with your rules John?

Hi Greg, I love those Rokons too, you can still buy them brand new and they will ship to anywhere in the world! There are lots of hilarious you tube vids of these things.
Regards Geoff.

Thanks Greg. I had the dubious pleasure of trying one of those 'gems' in the early 70s when I was about 15, outside the bike shop I worked at in school hols. Twas the 2wheel drive model.

Can't say I ever wanted a 2nd ride. As I recall it took ages to sell - with good reason. Handled like a camel, steered like a super-tanker, but it never lost traction.

I had no idea they came out in early 60s. Can't believe they still make them... & sell them

Yeh, specially when you consider it started as one of these 175 roadies below... & is twin-carb.
