Stu what did you make that out of? Looks like it was good at being shaped to fit around the swingarm

Re: NSW Twinshock and Classic Champs
David,
I shaped a bit of steel. Laid the TY on its side and took a cardboard template then worked it on the vice, all up about 1/2 hour work. I tried cable tying it, but couldnt get it tight enough, so I ended up tie-wiring it. Very secure.

For all you out of towners we don’t want to lose anybody before the start so some simple directions to help you find you way.
If coming from Muswellbrook/Singleton/Newcastle way and all point north you will drive into Denman from the east side.
Coming over the levee bank as you enter Denman take the first turn right and continue along this road (Golden Highway) for 16km until you arrive at the Sandy Hollow township.
Driving straight through the town (its pretty small so don’t blink) you will pass a Caltex Servo on the right hand side.
Travel a further 2km from this point to the Giants Creek Road turn off on the right.
Turn right into Giants Creek Road, go another 1.3km and you should see a dirt track turn off to the right.
Turn right here and drive though the small creek crossing and the gate to your destination, Chappy's property, is only another 700 meters up the track on the right hand side.
Hope these directions are of some help and we look forward to seeing you all there.

Re: NSW Twinshock and Classic Champs
Thanks katostrom. I get what you are on about for finding Chapman's place but have another question.
I did a web based travel guide thing last night and it was telling me that the shortest way to Giants Creek from Qld via the New England Highway was to come through Merriwa. I've previously only ever come through Musswellbrook and Denman to get there so was wondering which is the better way for people coming from Qld.

Hi David
Sorry cant help you with that only ever come from Denman way (but that is coming from Maitland direction). Also notice google suggests come in via Wybong Rd if coming from north down New England but again only ever come in via described Golden Valley Hway road (Wybong is a bit of a back road but as far as aware bitumen all way). Not sure how your directed to Merriwa for your suggested route, seems a bit off track, I would have thought via Denman is easiest route but perhaps someone else who has travelled alt ways can comment

Re: NSW Twinshock and Classic Champs
Its a little bit shorter turning off the NE Hwy at Willow Tree to Merriwa but its 10-15 k of gravel, can be a bit chopped up, it was last time I came through about a month ago but its not a bad drive if you don't like Hwy's
Wybong Rd just as you come into Muswellbrook is a good sealed road and comes into Sandy Hollow, its the quickest way if your coming down the NE Hwy

Sorry JC1 it ended up being the Cota 348. I took the Cota as a spare and so Brownie could have a test ride, and when I looked over the B grade lines the day before the trial, it was pretty obvious the 348 would be a lot more suitable to ride than the KT. It was the 'biggest" trial I have ever ridden (biggest "ups" and biggest "downs"). There were four big "ups" on the B grade line that would not have been as enjoyable on a smaller bike. One "up" was so big that third gear worked the best. The Monty went fantastically and the only bit that stumped me all day was a tight fiddly bit in section 6 which was added at the last minute.
I did get to ride the green bike on the way home doing some slippery wet clay riding with Greg Harding and Donna Woods near Coffs Harbour, and it was lucky I didn't ride it at the trial because it developed fuel flow and had shocky problems (the shocky oil came out during the long drive in the trailer).
