Hello everyone,
I found a photo of my Italjet Scott when I first bought it and as you can see, it is very rough and it hasn't progressed much at all. Yes Greg I can hardly wait to hear it run myself. I believe my bike was possibly originally bought by Robert Gough and had a sidecar attached as I have noticed some signs of where it would have been mounted..
Bendynamics, yours looks OK and do you have any progress photographs?
Greg, I have seen you latest collection of "Totally loved machine" (TLM) parts and once again you have scored well including some extra TY parts and I know you will put it all to good use. Have you had a chance to do any work on the TLM conversion?
We had a club day last Sunday and I rode the KT again at the new Toowoomba motorcycle club venue, which is a top venue by the way, I began to run out of fuel due to a blocked fuel tap. But thanks to Glen Summerville and Don Latham we sorted it, cleaned the crud out and I was off again. I'm glad I am sorting out these glitches before our next 2 day KT challenge.

Hi Everyone,
Chippy, either the tank is small or the motor is big or maybe both? Looks fairly complete, have you done anything with the forks yet as they are quite rusty in the photo?
Yes work on the Totally Loved Machine is progressing, well sort of as all 3 of them are now in pieces. Perhaps a better way to look at is none of them go at the moment and we have more individual TLM parts than ever!
Donna is making quite the Picking Partner and we are both happy with the loot. Below is a photo of the TY175 parts that we picked up the same day for $50.00. We use a very simple formula of asking the right person the right question at the right time,EASY!
Good to see you riding your KT! Franken KT is back from holidays, added some fuel and fired second kick, Happy Days! Also I have scored a KT rear silencer (very rusty) but good enough to copy the baffle for you.

Hi Greg & Donna,
Hope the chooks are happy in there new home( i am identified as chaser of the chook in some circles you know) .I did the swap for the ty175 with George (the only licensed & registered trials rider in Coffs & on a Bultaco) a dungar for a dungar but we are both happy. Looks like i will have to negotiate with Donna for some cables & other parts needed. You better get Donnas new bike going as we will be out for a ride in a few weeks. gav

Hi Everyone,
Gav, the chaser of the chook! We have now promoted you to chook house removalist. George will be happy as he was the instigator, an F11 for a TY175 sounds fair to me, got to love the Dungars! When George gets the F11 going, we will have to go riding, you on your DT1 and I will ride my $20.00 Motorsport, do you know anyone with a early TS250?
Now for the Totally Loved Machine, we have made a bit of progress.... Managed to pick up a 315/4RT air filter at the Queensland Titles last year and it fits really well into the TLM airbox, luckily the top of the box is flush with the frame, I only had to make a polycarbonate retainer, almost ready to ride!

Hi Everyone,
Gav, Job done, we are both very happy with the $200.00 investment, shaved 7 kilos off the Totally Loved machine (thats a 5kg bag of potatoes and 2 litres of milk!)
Here is a couple of photos of Donna at the Fantastic Toonumbar Dam SQTA trial on the weekend (we need more trials like that one!)

Hi Everyone,
Just sharing some photos of the old bikes and riders at LRMTC May 2 day Trial, great to see Twinshock and Classic alive and well in Queensland. A diversified collection of bikes and rider ages, 5 Classics and even an ITALIAN front and centre!
Congratulations Chippy for winning our KT Challenge and Post Classic outright, that evens the score. Look forward to MTCQ's TY Challenge, something tells me there will be more TY's than ever!

Re: Basket Cases
Hi Everyone,
Straightpipe, your KT looks good, there is quite a bit of difference between the before and after shots. Did you notice much difference in bottom end power when you fitted the original rear silencer?
David, finally got some time to do some comparison shots for you, the fibreglass tank is about 250 grams lighter and is closer in dimensions than I first thought. Obviously a mould was taken off an original tank, time and probably sun has closed the middle gap so much that it won't fit FrankenKT! Would have to make narrower tank rubbers and modify the CDI unit and mounts to maybe shoehorn it on. Alternately, it would make a good plug for someone who is good with fibreglass? Anyone want a project?
Tried the CDI unit and coil that came with the tank and both work fine, HAPPY DAYS! Even had the genuine cap with the big K on it, fitted it and the tank now clears the plug cap, I was never happy with SPARK and FUEL rubbing together.

Re: Basket Cases
Thanks for doing those measurements Greg. Some one has gone to a lot of trouble to make that tank. It would have been nice for you to be able to use that lightweight fibreglass tank.
I seem to remember that the Clarke plastic tank made to fit Honda CR125 will fit the KT250 and the TY250. I was almost motivated enough to have them make one in green for me a few years ago, but I love the look of the original KT250 tank shape and stuck with it and the panel beating and spray painting that goes along with metal tanks in trials use. If anyone is interested, I asked about it a few years ago and they offered to make me a green CR125 tank even though they only list them as being available in boring Honda colours on their web page.
My HT lead rests against the fuel tank weld seam and I've always wondered how much of the spark energy leaks to earth via the fuel tank!!!
I just looked at the Clarke webpage and it has changed a bit, and the only one that looks about right is a model 11336 and is said to have a tunnel 2.5 inches wide, which may be a bit narrow judging by Greg's photos

Re: Basket Cases
Hi Greg, Hard to say if there is any power difference,( not much difference noise wise either). First ride on bike before $$ input was with a 39 tooth rear sprocket ( a home made job!) not the standard 54 or 56 (?). This was pretty much a basket case and have since found that KT will only run on full choke , no choke and the engine just Bogs down and dies, (possible that carburetor idle jet is obstructed ?)Hope to get it sorted soon. Just like to say how useful this forum has been in aiding the rebuild, seems that a lot of guys have a fondness for Green Japanese bikes. Cheers Ross
